Prayer Pattern
This outline is a flexible guide and should begin with time in God’s Word.
Thanksgiving and Praise
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. (Psalm 100:4-5)
Thank God for blessings—past, present, and future. Praise His names: Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Jireh. Let your heart freely adore Him.
Confession and Repentance
He that covers sin will not prosper, but those who confess will find mercy. (Proverbs 28:13)
Ask God to search your heart (Psalm 139:23-24). Confess sins of thought, word, and deed. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill any space left by sin.
Intercession
Stand in the gap for others. (Ezekiel 22:30)
Pray for family, church leaders, missionaries, the lost, and revival in our nation. Be a good soldier of Christ. (2 Timothy 2:1-4)
Personal Petition
Let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6)
Pray for your character to reflect Christ. Seek the fruit of the Spirit in your life (Galatians 5:22). Lift up your emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial needs.
Scripture Meditation & Listening
Spend time in the Word and quiet reflection. Listen for God’s guidance. If unclear, don’t assume—seek counsel. (Proverbs 11:14)
Journal what God reveals and close with thanksgiving and praise.
Final Encouragement
Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
This pattern is not rigid—be led by the Holy Spirit. If you pray in your Heavenly language, use it. This gift strengthens your communication with the Father.
